Otago Daily Times subscribers have been quick to
secure tickets to the "Big Night In" community concert at
Forsyth Barr Stadium on November 12.
Subscribers were entitled to enter a preferential ballot for
tickets, but demand had far exceeded supply, ODT circulation
manager James Smith said yesterday.
"We've been absolutely amazed at the response.
"Unfortunately, up to 600 subscribers are going to miss out,"
he said.
"Anyone who hasn't received their tickets in the post by
Tuesday should presume they have been unsuccessful in the
ballot and immediately get tickets from the stadium or
Otago Daily Times regional offices."
Public tickets will be available from Tuesday at the stadium
and ODT offices in Wanaka, Queenstown, Alexandra,
Balclutha, Oamaru and Mosgiel, and The Ensign office
in Gore.
The community concert will feature an all-star line-up of
some of New Zealand's most popular singers, including Tina
Cross (Auckland), Jackie Clarke (Auckland), Ainslie Allen
(Wellington), Chris Fennessy (Brisbane), Paul Ross (Auckland)
and Chris Crowe (Wellington), performing with more than 40
regional singers and dancers.
Entry is by free ticket only.
Gold-coin donations will be accepted at the gate for the
KidsCan charitable trust and Lions Club.
