Resort meeting dropped

The Southern District Health Board's draft meeting schedule for next year indicates it has dropped plans for two meetings in Queenstown in favour of one.

A schedule released this week shows the board will meet in Queenstown in April, along with the hospitals advisory committee and disability support/community and public health committees of the same cycle.

A second Queenstown meeting had been indicated for September, but at last month's meeting many board members agreed with chairman Joe Butterfield's suggestion having two meetings in Queenstown was not worth the extra expense.

Five board meetings are scheduled for Dunedin and five for Invercargill.

Disability support/community and public health will continue to meet every two months, rather than every month.

The draft schedule will be considered by the board at its meeting tomorrow.
