The "Big Night In" community concert raised more than $30,000 for charity.
Gold coin donations collected at the Forsyth Barr Stadium gates on Saturday were distributed between children's cancer foundation KidsCan (50%), Dunedin North Lions clubs (10%) and Big Night In Charities Ltd (40%, to offset concert costs).
A cheque for $12,000 was presented to KidsCan at the end of the concert on Saturday.
"That was what we had collected by half-time, so there will be a bit more to come yet," Big Night In artistic producer Doug Kamo said yesterday.
"We raised just over $30,000, in total, which is really pleasing."
