University of Otago chancellor John Ward has been reappointed
to the head governance role on the university council for
2012.
He will be joined at the top table next year by Stuart
McLauchlan, who has been reappointed to the pro-chancellor
position.
Mr Ward has been the chancellor of Otago since the start of
2009. He served a two-year term as pro-chancellor from 2007,
after he was first appointed to the university council by the
minister of education in 2003. A commerce graduate
(accounting) from Otago, the Invercargill-based Mr Ward is a
fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the
Institute of Directors.
Mr McLauchlan was elected pro-chancellor when Mr Ward moved
into the chancellor role.
