Campus incident results in arrests

A police officer interviewed members of Campus Watch after an incident yesterday about 8.10pm at the University of Otago, near the St David lecture theatres, which resulted in two arrests, Senior Sergeant Craig Brown said.

Two campus watch officers had apprehended two men, who were dragging around a rubbish bin.

A male Campus Watch officer was bitten on the wrist, while a female officer had her hair pulled, Snr Sgt Brown said.

A 20-year-old unemployed man was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour.

A 21-year-old sickness beneficiary was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour and assault. They will appear in the Dunedin District Court next week.
