Armed police head towards a St Kilda house after a man was
seen with a gun near the intersection of Prince Albert Rd
and Market St. Photo: ODT
Police have recovered a high-powered air rifle from the
scene of a fight in St Kilda, but have not located the person
who allegedly brandished it.
The Armed Offenders Squad was called shortly after 5pm
following multiple calls concerning a fight, including
reports of a male presenting a firearm at persons within the
group, Senior Sergeant Mel Aitken said.
Police cordoned off a large part of the area, while AOS
called for one of the men to leave a property on Prince
Albert Rd.
Several people were spoken to and are now helping police with
their inquiries.
The persons involved in the altercation were known to each
other and it appears this was in retaliation to an earlier
incident involving the parties.
