A hundreds-strong queue stretched down Stuart St this morning as Flight of the Conchords fans lined up in the hope of securing tickets to the comedy duo's Dunedin show.

Online customers snapped up 550 tickets in a pre-sale on Tuesday and the promoters released a further 300 tickets this morning which had to be bought in person from the Regent Theatre.

However, the queue was so long Regent staff got permission from the promoters to sell a further 200 tickets once the initial 300 had been sold.

The remaining tickets for the June 23 show went on sale at noon at the Regent.

Elsewhere in the country hardcore fans lined up 15 hours early for tickets to the show.

The Conchords are playing 10 shows around the country, beginning in Hawkes Bay on June 13.

The tickets will be available from selected outlets and fans had to collect them in person as organisers try to beat scalpers.
