Dunedin weather helped return a wanted man to the warmth of
police custody early yesterday morning.
Earlier this week police appealed for sightings of Michael
Raymond Norton (21), who had left Moana House last Friday.
A recall warrant was issued for Norton.
This week, he knocked on the door of a Mornington home asking
to use a telephone to call his probation officer.
Acting Senior Sergeant Matt Scoles said at 2am yesterday
police received a call from Norton, this time from a
phonebox.
"He said he was cold and wet and would like to be housed more
appropriately."
He was picked up and appeared in Dunedin District Court
yesterday.
