Police seek witnesses after pedestrian hit by car

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly pedestrian was struck by a car in central Dunedin yesterday morning.

At 10.15am, a silver Nissan Maxima car hit a 72-year-old pedestrian who was crossing upper Stuart St, between the Octagon and Moray Pl.

Constable Peter Bevin said the male pedestrian suffered a laceration to his head and cuts to his body.

He was taken to Dunedin Hospital by St John ambulance.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the accident.
