Sometimes, running in the summer heat can make you red hot.
But tomorrow, whether it's hot or cold, there will be dozens
of red, hot runners participating in the Great KidsCan Santa
Run at Dunedin's St Clair Beach.
Brighton Sea Scouts club member and Santa Run organiser Sarah
Redfearn said runners would run up to 3km wearing santa suits
to raise funds for the
KidsCan charity which supports New Zealand children living in
poverty.
"It's a great event in aid of a great cause - kids supporting
kids is always a healthy thing and what better way to do it
than run around the beach in a santa suit."
About 70 runners had already registered, but participants can
register at the event. About 120 runners were expected, she
said.
The event begins at the St Clair Surf Club at 6.30pm.
