Lund South Construction has won the tender to build the Otago
Regional Council's new council chamber and civil defence
headquarters.
The company was involved in the construction of the Forsyth
Barr Stadium, redevelopment of Toitu Otago Settlers Museum
entrance and the new South Dunedin Countdown.
Chairman Stephen Woodhead said the $615,000 tender price was
significantly under the council's estimate of nearly $1
million.
Corporate Services director Wayne Scott said five tenders had
been received and all were competitive.
The lowest conforming tender was accepted for the project, he
said.
Lund would soon take possession of the site with the aim of
completing the project by March 31.
The company also won the contract for the flood protection
work on the Water of the Leith which had begun.
