Dunedin's run of tropical summer weather will take a brief
dip today as a southerly passes through.
The temperature exceeded 20degC for the second day running
yesterday with 24degC the high at both Dunedin airport and in
the city.
The southerly due last night was expected to bring showers
and a high of only 15degC today - one degree lower than the
overnight low of 16degC recorded in the city on Sunday night.
The weather is expected to improve tomorrow as a northerly
arrives with temperatures predicted to again reach 24degC by
Thursday.
Another southerly change is expected on Friday.
Further south, widespread rain, with a few heavy falls, was
expected last night. Severe weather warnings and watches were
issued.
