A recent Otago Museum staff exchange trip to Bangkok,
Thailand, proved highly successful, museum marketing and
development co-ordinator Juliet Pierce said.
Ms Pierce became the first Otago Museum staff member to take
part in a staff exchange trip to the National Science Museum
of Thailand last month.
She gained new insights into museum-based science education
through the two-week trip, which included a week observing
and taking part in an outreach visit by museum staff to a
regional area outside the Thai capital.
The Thai museum had considerable expertise in running lively,
interactive science shows for youngsters, which were
cost-effective and educationally valuable, she said.
