The TrustPower Dunedin Community Awards are now open for
entries from Dunedin voluntary groups.
TrustPower community relations representative Jess Somerville
said 102 groups entered last year but many more voluntary
groups in Dunedin deserved recognition.
Voluntary groups or organisations could enter themselves or
they could be entered by a member of the public, Miss
Somerville said.
The awards categories were heritage and environment, health
and wellbeing, arts and culture, sport and leisure, and
educational and child/youth development.
Category winners would win $500, runners-up $250 and the
supreme winner would win $1500 and an all-expenses paid trip
to the 2013 TrustPower national community awards.
Entry forms for the awards are available from the Dunedin
City Council or can be completed online at www.trustpower.co.nz/communityawards
or by calling 0800 87 11 11.
Entries close on March 8.
