Everything from skateboards to helicopters will head to
Brighton on Sunday.
The annual Brighton gala day will feature something to appeal
to every member of the family.
There will be demonstrations by the Otago Regional Rescue
Helicopter, motorcycle trials rider Blake Fox, blacksmith
Gavin Fox and magician Jonathan Usher. The Brighton Hard Man
Competition will also be held. Entertainment includes live
music, rides, bouncy castles, mini cars and HeliOtago scenic
flights. A wide variety of stalls will offer refreshments,
face painting, airbrush tattoos, plants, flowers and
second-hand goods.
A highlight of the gala will be a skate jam and big trick
competition from noon to 3pm, at Big Rock Primary School.
The Brighton Gala Day is on at the Brighton Domain from 10am
to 4.30pm on Sunday.
Entry is by gold coin donation. Proceeds will go towards
rebuilding the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club rooms.
