A large crowd turned out to watch local music legends The
Chills in concert at the Dunedin Botanic Garden this
afternoon.
The free concert was to open the garden's 150th celebrations,
and a crowd estimated at between 2000 and 3000 took advantage
of a fine day to enoy the gig.
Frontman Martin Phillips led the band through a set that
included Pink Frost, Wet Blanket, Heavenly Pop Hit and a rare
performance of Doledrums.
They finished with rousing versions of Leather Jacket and
Rolling Moon that got the crowd up on their feet.
The gig marks the beginning of a year of botanic
celebrations, which includes hosting the 2013 Global Botanic
Gardens Congress in October
