A blue and gold macaw takes advantage of a shower from
the Botanic Garden's avairy sprinkler yesterday.
Avairy supervisor Tim Cotter said the overhead sprinkler
system was used in the middle of the day when the birds were
suffering from the heat.
The birds flew to the top of the avairy, hung upside down to
enjoy the shower and flew down flapping their wings.
''It breaks up their day.''
There were 50 species in the avairy and 250 birds. The system
also watered the aviary's plants.
