A Mosgiel grandmother has admitted
abducting her two-year-old grand-daughter from the Otago
Farmers Market on Saturday afternoon.
Yvonne Annelie Skeet (47), sickness beneficiary, of Mosgiel,
pleaded guilty to the abduction in Dunedin District Court
today and is remanded in custody for sentence on March 26.
Summarising the facts, Judge Eddie Paul, of Auckland, said
the child and her grandfather (Skeet's former husband) were
at the farmers market where the grandfather was operating a
stall.
At the market, Skeet took the opportunity to take the child
away resulting in police launching an abduction
investigation.
The child was discovered with Skeet the following day.
