About 90 southern firefighters and support staff who
responded to the fatal Christchurch earthquake in February
2011 will be honoured at a ceremony in Dunedin on Monday.
The New Zealand Fire Service is honouring more than 1000
metropolitan staff, as well as volunteers and other
personnel, with Christchurch recognition awards at ceremonies
throughout the coun-try, in the lead-up to the second
anniversary of the quake.
Those involved in the response will rec-eive certificates of
appreciation, and those deployed to Christchurch will be
given citations and ribbon bars.
