Pool yesterday. Photo by Craig Baxter.
Swimmers are delighted to be back in the Southern
District Health Board therapeutic pool's warm waters.
The Dunedin Physio Pool was closed for two months while the
changing rooms and pool were repaired and painted and chipped
tiles replaced.
Swimmer Jill Chalmers said it had been a long two months
without the pool and she was enjoying getting back into the
exercise.
''It's a marvellous place,'' she said.
For people with disabilities or arthritis, the pool's
34.5degC warmth was very helpful, she said.
''It's fantastic to be back.''
Pool supervisor Robyn Duggie said it had been a busy opening
morning with the regular swimmers in particular very happy to
back.
''We've had lots of comments.''
Many of the regulars had been using Moana Pool during the
closure but it did not have the benefit of such good warmth,
she said.
