The possible placement of additional pedestrian crossings in
Mosgiel is being considered.
Dunedin City Council senior traffic engineer Ron Minnema said
the council had received three responses from letters sent to
the community board, schools, a disability service and a
ratepayer for feedback on potential sites for crossings in
Factory Rd, in Mosgiel.
The letter included three potential crossing sites but asked
for ''local knowledge'' if crossings were needed elsewhere,
he said.
The council wanted to find five to seven possible crossing
sites and would then consult residents on where to build the
three crossing points, he said.
Zebra crossings were not being considered, because there were
not enough pedestrians to make them a safe crossing option,
he said.
