A mix of sounds and sunshine bought a ''spectrum ''of music
lovers to the Waitati Music Festival on Saturday.
Organiser Katie Peppercorn (38) said 400 adults and about
twice as many children attended the family-friendly festival,
held at Bland Park.
Bubble-making machines, mini teepees and a soccer pitch were
available for the children and the 12-hour festival had music
for everyone's taste, Mrs Peppercorn said.
''Everybody was really happy, relaxed, chilling in the
sunshine enjoying the music. The kids were having a ball. It
was a very easy place to hang out. It was a fantastic vibe.''
The festival would be back next year to play to the diverse
crowd, Mrs Peppercorn said.
''There were all ages, and all styles, of people from young
and old hippies to young and old rockers. It went through the
ranges, the ages, the genres and the spectrum.''
