The Edgar Centre is expecting one of its biggest weekends, with both the Otago Home Show and the Armageddon Expo at the venue this weekend.
It is the first time the Armageddon Expo has been brought to Dunedin and its organisers are keen to see what response it gets from sci-fi, fantasy, gaming and movie fans.
Organiser Bill Geradts said three dwarves from The Hobbit, The Walking Dead actor Andrew Rothenberg and cartoon star Greg Cipes would be appearing.
The expo would have a $5 entry fee and give people a rare chance to meet a celebrity. Exhibitors would also be selling collectables, costumes, comics and computer games. Eating contests and card-trading tournaments would be held.
''It's a fun day to meet stars and mingle with some fans.''
Being held next door to the Home Show, it could give parents a few quiet hours' shopping, he said.
''Bring the kids and drop them off with us for a couple of hours.''
