Those heading along to see Aerosmith at the Forsyth Barr
Stadium may get a little shock when they are charged a $7
''venue levy'' on top of their ticket price and the ticketing
company's service fee.
DVML communications manager Jo Scully said the levy was
usually paid to the venue by the promoter as a contribution
towards the staging of the event and made up part of the
revenue earned for hosting the event. It was usually included
in the ticket price, which the promoter set.
For this event, the stadium and Aerosmith promoter had agreed
part of the venue cost would be recovered on top of the
ticket price, she said.
She would not go into detail.
''The $7 is agreed by the promoter and the venue; the rest of
the details ...are commercially sensitive and will remain
confidential,'' she said.
