A Dunedin man alleged to have fired a number of shots during
a domestic dispute with his wife in St Kilda last night has
been released on bail.
The 51-year-old man, who was granted interim name
suppression, did not appear in court but was granted an
adjournment by a registrar in the Dunedin District Court this
afternoon.
He was remanded to March 15 on a charge of threatening to
kill a woman. Her name was also suppressed.
Police were called to a Tedder St address last night after
neighbours reported hearing gunshots about 11.45pm.
Sergeant Paul McLaughlan said this morning a "significant"
number of weapons, ranging from pistols to rifles, and
ammunition were located.
It was not known whether the shots were fired into the air or
directed at somebody.
