Armed police arrest man

Armed police swooped on a property south of the Dunedin International Airport, and arrested a man who had earlier made threats to Mosgiel business owners.

Actg Snr Sgt Baker said the armed police were due to the man allegedly threating to kill two business men.

No firearms were found at the property.

Armed police were spotted by an Otago Daily Times reader on Centre Rd at about 9.15pm last night where the alleged offender was taken into custody.

A police search recovered 20 cannabis plants at the address.

The man has been charged with two counts of threatening to do gross bodily harm, and one of cultivating cannabis.
