Kaikorai Primary School pupils Grace
Southby (left) and Maia Hunter (both 9) display some of the
purple-iced cupcakes they made for the Purple Cake Day
charity yesterday.
The school raised $1524.80 to help educate underprivileged
children so they can break the poverty cycle and create a
better future for themselves, their families and their
communities.
The pupils were among thousands across the country
participating in Purple Cake Day, all trying to raise
$100,000 to sustain support for education projects in Haiti
and Nepal, and extend the project to Kenya.
