New Zealand rhythm and blues singer Aaradhna will be the
guest artist for the Paul Simon concert at Forsyth Barr
Stadium on April 6.
The 29-year-old Aucklander will join two-time Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame inductee Simon and United States
singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright on the bill.
''I'm really looking forward to it,'' she said from her
Porirua home yesterday.
''I've heard a lot of Simon and Garfunkel. Paul Simon is one
of the best songwriters in the world.
''It's going to be a privilege to open up for him.''
Aaradhna Jayantilal Patel made her recording debut on
Adeaze's 2004 single Getting Stronger, which peaked at
No 1 on the New Zealand singles chart.
Aaradhna released her third album, Treble &
Reverb, in November, leading to a multi-album deal with
United States label Republic Records, which represented the
late Amy Winehouse.
