Affectionate tabby cats and abundant rabbits will briefly
be half price at the SPCA in Dunedin.
SPCA Otago animal manager Grace Hepburn (21) said about 45
tabby cats at the shelter would be half price at the
Tabby-A-Thon this weekend.
The tabbies on offer for adoption were an even mix of kittens
(8 weeks to 4 months) and adults (5 months to nine years),
she said.
At half price, adult cats would cost $70 and kittens $80 and
would come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and
flea-treated.
''And with lots and lots and lots of unconditional love.''
About half the cats brought to the shelter were tabbies, Miss
Hepburn said.
Over Easter, all rabbits would be half price because a rabbit
at the shelter had a large litter on Monday, she said.
''The babies look like little pink jellybeans.''
