Pizza delivery man robbed

A pizza delivery man was robbed shortly after he delivered a meal in Dundas St on Saturday night, Dunedin Senior Sergeant Kelvin Lloyd said.

The victim, who works for Domino's Pizza, was shaken but unharmed.

Three men, all about 183cm tall, allegedly approached the delivery man's car, in which he was sitting.

Two of the assailants, both described as being of stocky build, opened the vehicle's front doors, and threatened him. One of the assailants allegedly grabbed the victim by his clothes.

They took an unknown quantity of pizza and fled. They were last seen heading south in Clyde St.

Snr Sgt Lloyd said while reasonably common in other centres, pizza theft was unusual in Dunedin.

Yesterday, police carried out a forensic examination of the car. Anyone with information was asked to contact police on (03) 471-4800.
