The Dunedin Public Art Gallery has won an international award
for its website.
The gallery won the website design category at the Museums
Australia Multimedia and Publication Design Awards at the
Museums Australia National Conference in Canberra on Sunday.
The gallery was also highly commended for the invitation
design to its Sound Full exhibition.
''It was great to have all our hard work on the gallery
website project acknowledged in this way,'' gallery graphic
designer Karina McLeod said yesterday.
The annual awards are for New Zealand and Australia galleries
''I'm very pleased that the Dunedin Public Art Gallery's
excellence in design, both graphic and digital, has been
recognised and celebrated on the international stage,''
gallery commercial development manager Tim Pollock said
''This win in the web design section against some major
institutions with impressive budgets to commit to their
projects is a significant achievement.''
The gallery has a history of success in the awards. It won
the exhibition excellence category last year for Still
Life: The Art of Anatomy and the exhibition catalogue
category in 2011 for Wayne Barrar: An Expanding
Subterra as well as the calendar and information brochure
category for three issues of its publication LOG.
