Thousands of dollars could be raised for charity through the Girls Of Gridiron event in Dunedin.
Every ticket sold will result in a 50c donation to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Organisers hoped about 10,000 people would attend the game at Forsyth Barr Stadium on November 16.
It will be the only Girls Of Gridiron event in New Zealand.
The show will comprise a 90-minute game between two teams of 10 female athletes, from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Live music and entertainment by cheerleaders will also be provided, and spectators will have the chance to mingle with players during an after-party on the pitch.
Promoter Darryl Tombleson said about 40% of audience members at Girls Of Gridiron events were females.
