Anna Fraser (33), of Dunedin, holds up the rainbow trout she
caught in the Southern Reservoir at an Otago Fish and Game
spin-fishing class yesterday.
Soon after landing the fish, her classmate and mother Pauline
Fraser hauled in a similar-sized rainbow trout.
Anna said she would bypass the gutting and cleaning part of
the practical lesson but would bake the fish for dinner.
Ranger Steve Dixon said 16 women attended a theoretical
female-only fishing class on Thursday and the popularity of
the lessons meant more classes would be held in the future.
