A group of teens who tried to flee police in their car lasted
just 10 seconds before crashing into a fence early yesterday.
Police were called to the Waldronville area at 3am following
reports teens had been breaking into vehicles.
Sergeant Nathan White said the group tried to flee, ''with
their getaway attempt lasting about 10 seconds before they
crashed into a fence.''
The four youths, aged 16-18, were apprehended following a
spate of thefts from vehicles in the area.
Property had been recovered, and inquiries were continuing to
locate the rightful owners. Police wanted to hear from anyone
in the Waldronville area who may have had property taken from
The youths will appear in the Dunedin Youth and District
Courts early next week.
