A Dunedin man was named the 2013 Southern Apprentice of
the Year in Dunedin last night.
Lund Construction carpentry apprentice Peter O'Sullivan (22)
was announced the winner of the Southern Region Registered
Master Builders award at Mercure Hotel.
Mr O'Sullivan won the choice of either a $2000 study grant,
or $2000 to spend at Carters and an Outward Bound leadership
Second place was awarded to Robinson Grellet Building
apprentice Cohen Mowat (23), of Dunedin, and third place to
Alpine Management Consultants apprentice Marc Russell (23),
Mr O'Sullivan will compete against eight other regional
winners at the national finals in Auckland next month.
At the finals, competitors will complete a small building
project, which will be given to a charity.
