Green Island Gallery director Genny Hanning admires a
painting in an exhibition at the gallery featuring works by
Green Island vet Scott Drummond.
Mr Drummond described his exhibition, ''Alps to Ocean'', as a
watercolour road trip through some of New Zealand's most
Painting allowed him to get out into the landscape and
de-stress after long hours
at the Green Island veterinary surgery, which he owns.
''Watercolour painting is a lot less messy than oil and is
ideal for working outdoors. You get one go at it and have to
get it right first time.''
He was inspired by regular road trips he and his family took
between Dunedin and Twizel.
Getting the tone and distance right was important as was
making a connection with the viewer, he said .
• The exhibition runs until October 12 at the Main South Rd
