A new job is being created at the Dunedin International
Airport Services (Dunedin) Ltd has advertised for part-time
customer service staff to work at the Virgin Australia
Company director Clarry Tibbitts, of Mosgiel, said the
position was created to replace staff who had left during the
past 12 months.
He said staff would be in Virgin Australia uniform and
working on the airline's counter within the Dunedin airport,
but would be on the payroll of Airport Services Dunedin which
sub-contracted to a Christchurch company.
Duties included check-in, dispatching, meeting aircraft
arrivals and departures, and other tasks for about three
hours a day, Monday to Sunday on a rostered basis.
Virgin Australia had an alliance with Air New Zealand and
operated daily direct flights between Dunedin and Brisbane,
six days a week. During summer, the airline also operated
twice-weekly direct flights between Dunedin and Melbourne,
and Dunedin and Sydney.
