Dunedin police say an incident involving a ‘‘distressed''
person near the Captain Cook Tavern early yesterday is not
linked to recent abduction and assault attempts in the city.
Detective Sergeant Brett Roberts, of Dunedin, said police
attended the incident about 5am, although no formal complaint
was made in relation to it.
A police cordon was set up around a patch of grass opposite
the Captain Cook Tavern in Great King St following the
incident, which was reported yesterday as a claim of indecent

relation to the matter.
