Police have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the robbery of a north Dunedin dairy which left a shop assistant badly shaken.

Armed police swooped on the Quarry Dairy in North Road last Monday after a masked man forced the female worker into a back room and made off with cash, cigarettes and a cellphone.

The man arrested today faces a charge of aggravated robbery and is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court tomorrow.

Police say they are not seeking any one else in relation to the incident and have thanked the public for their help.
