Kaikorai Primary School pupils received Junior Neighbourhood Support Programme awards for going the extra mile to help in school and in the community.

The programme, which links community groups, police, fire and St John Ambulance with schools, as well as encouraging pupils to be good leaders, and fosters pride and community spirit, has been run in four primary schools this year.

The others were Green Island, Carisbrook and Bathgate Park. Other programme leaders were also recognised for their contributions.
