Work continues on stabilising a large slip at Upper Junction Rd, near Sawyers Bay, yesterday.

The slip occurred about 100m from the intersection of Upper Junction Rd and Blanket Bay Rd, during storms last June.

About 30m of road was lost, leaving a 30m scarp on the lower side of Upper Junction Rd, with a 20m drop.

The $400,000 project is being completed by contractor SouthRoads Ltd and was scheduled to be finished by the end of next month, when the road would be reopened, Dunedin City Council roading projects engineer Evan Matheson said yesterday.
