Cruise ship crew member dies

A crew member died on board a cruise ship between Port Chalmers and Stewart Island yesterday. 

Sergeant Ian Martin, of Invercargill, confirmed a 34-year-old Filipino man died from a medical condition on Amadea, which berthed in Port Chalmers on Wednesday.

The death was not suspicious and had been referred to the coroner.

The vessel with its 624 passengers and 292 crew, berthed at Bluff to allow the removal of the body.
