The Otago Museum's recent ''REVolution: 100 Years of
Motorcycles'' exhibition proved ''hugely successful'',
attracting more than 82,683 visitors, museum staff said.
Poor weather over the Christmas-New Year period and the
popularity of the motorcycle show combined to attract ''very
high numbers of visitors'', director Dr Ian Griffin said.
Attendance figures tabled at the Otago Museum Trust Board
meeting showed 61,657 visits to the museum last December and
63,760 in January, compared with 34,214 and 35,983 in the
equivalent to two months, a year ago.
The motorcycle show, which closed on February 16, featured
105 machines dating from 1902 to 2013.
