Former Brighton Volunteer Fire Brigade member Russell Carter (84) takes a seat behind the wheel of the station's old 1935 Ford V8 fire engine, which was used by the brigade between 1964 and 1968.
Mr Carter, now of Ashburton, drove the appliance for the brigade between 1965 and 1971.
He was one of about 50 past and present firefighters who attended the 50th Jubilee of the Brighton Volunteer Fire Brigade at the weekend.
