Inquiries into burglaries around the Mosgiel area have
revealed a ''significant'' amount of unreported activity,
Last week, police asked Mosgiel residents to contact them
regarding suspicious activity in the township.
Thirteen burglaries had been recorded since March 7.
Sergeant Kevin Davidson, of Mosgiel, said: ''It appears there
has been a significant amount of activity that has not been
reported to police.
''We would be very interested in any information that people
have got about vehicles or people, particularly around the
southeastern area [of Mosgiel].''
The main targets in the burglaries were houses in the
Gladstone Rd area, and houses and vehicles in the Lanark St
Food, alcohol and electrical items were all targeted in the
Sgt Davidson said the majority of burglaries appeared to be
linked and police were following several lines of inquiry.
An elderly man who found two males inside his King St
property last week was receiving assistance from Victim
Anyone with information about suspicious activity was urged
to contact Dunedin police on 471-4800, or anonymously via
Crimestoppers on 0800 555-111.
