Womens's Institute members from Otago and Southland will gather in Fairfield today to compete, share ideas and enjoy each others' company.
The Mid-Otago Federation of the institute is holding its annual meeting at the Fairfield Community Hall..
Federation publicity officer Jean Bagley said about 60 women were expected to attend.
A highlight of the day would be the presentation of two good-service awards to members who had done a lot for the federation, she said.
Members would enter baking, flowers and craft items for judging and some would go on to be judged at the national annual meeting in June.
Mrs Bagley said as part of the annual meeting, a speaker from Alzheimer's New Zealand had been invited to help educate institute members about the condition.
