A new community constable for Mosgiel has been selected and
is expected to start work within weeks.
Senior Constable Karren Bye has been recommended for the
position following a police selection process.
Sergeant Kevin Davidson, of Mosgiel, said seven applicants
applied for the position, which had been vacant since the
retirement of former community constable Jacqui Ballam in

in South Dunedin, worked in the strategic traffic unit, and
had been relieving as the prison liaison officer based in
Mosgiel, Sgt Davidson said.
She also lived in the Mosgiel area, and ''has a strong
community focus and will be very good in the job''.
