Mobile homes from throughout New Zealand relocated to the
Mosgiel A&P Showgrounds during Easter weekend.
The New Zealand Motor Caravan Association's three-day
National Easter Rally was billed as ''the great journey
south'' and more than 600 intrepid travellers made the trip
to the Taieri.
Bill and Denise Ross spent two days travelling from Motueka
for the 58th national Easter rally after buying their first
caravan last year.
''We love it. It's such a fantastic lifestyle. Every other
month we go on a trip,'' Mr Ross said.
Hundreds of spectators visited an open day on Sunday to
explore the latest in caravans and mobile homes and the trade
pavilion, with everything from washing machines, cookers,
fold-up electric bikes, portable massage beds and satellite
dishes to the proverbial kitchen sink.
Motorhomes had to be towed out of the muddy showgrounds on
Monday after the weekend's rain.
