It was muddy but the trip was all worthwhile for the members of the Green Island Grass Kart club who were successful at the South Island grass kart championships at Ohoka, north of Christchurch, at Easter.

Tracey Jowett won the 0-130cc water cooled or powered ported class and went on to win the Champion of Champions race to be the top karter at the competition.

Sam Ryan had the fastest lap speed in the intermediate class of 47.556 sec (9-13 year olds).

Jess Ryan also competed well in her event.
