There will be plenty of colour and fun at East Taieri over the school holidays.

The Cave Art Studio is holding its popular holiday art programme again.

''It went very well last year. We were fully booked,'' schoolteacher and artist Cheryl Pearson said.

''I'm hoping to hold classes right through the school holidays, if there's the demand.''

The classes were aimed at 5- to 12-year-olds and the emphasis was on fun, Mrs Pearson said.

''We'll be doing drawing, painting, collage and some mask-making. It's for any children who enjoy art. They don't have to have a flair for art. Some children do show a flair early on, but it's generally for any children who like doing art.''

Classes started on Monday this week and are being held from 9.30am-12.30pm daily until May2.

''If children have got the motivation, it's easy to teach them the skills and techniques. I think you can teach anybody to do art. And children's art is so inspiring.''

• The Cave Art Studio holiday art programme is held at 10 Elizabeth Ave, East Taieri. Phone 489-4810.
